VAA Next Generation Scholarship Application

The Next Generation Scholarship is open from December 1, 2025 through February 1, 2026. The VAA will award up to 4 scholarships valuing $2,500 each. Scholarships are to be paid directly to the recipient's institution. If an applicant selects to apply for a toolbox, the VAA will purchase the toolbox and distribute it to the recipient directly.

Prepare all application documents (application and sponsor endorsement) prior to beginning the online application process. Once your online application is submitted, you will not have an opportunity to make changes to the application. Please include your last name in all file names. Ensure you have all of the required information ready for upload prior to starting your application. NOTE: Be sure your information is complete, as incomplete nomination packets will not be considered by the VAA Scholarship Committee.

All applications are due by 11:59 pm Sunday, February 1, 2026.

This year's application is provided in a fillable PDF document. After completion of the document, you will upload the PDF application in addition to your sponsor endorsement. IMPORTANT: Please include your last name in all file names.

Sign the publicity release.
Prepare your answers to the application questions. In addition to personal information, you will be asked to provide responses to the following prompts:

Tell us about your journey: How did you get interested in the automotive repair industry, and what motivates you to build a career here? (250–500 words)
Commitment to Growth: What steps are you currently taking—or planning to take—to improve your skills and knowledge? (Examples: classes, certifications, on-the-job training, mentorship)
Five-Year Vision: Where do you see yourself in five years in the auto repair industry? How will this scholarship/opportunity help you get there?
Overcoming Challenges: Share a challenge you’ve faced (in school, work, or life) and how you overcame it. What did you learn that will help you succeed as a technician or automotive professional?
